In 2021, I went through a difficult battle with COVID 19 that led to a long stay in the hospital. During that time, I saw many elderly patients fighting the virus, and their strength left a lasting impression on me. Their resilience inspired me to create this painting as a symbol of courage and the warrior spirit it takes to face something so overwhelming.
The mountain lion represents strength, determination, and the will to keep fighting through adversity. Crowned with king cardinal feathers, it also represents freedom and the triumph that can come after a difficult battle. This piece is a tribute to everyone who faced the virus with courage, especially those who had to fight through even greater challenges.
