In this painting, I have created a world for all creatures and animals to live in harmony together, to escape humanities destruction on their homes. In this world they have used Mr. Squares Worth’s bubbles, “a yellow box fish from my previous pieces” to create and morph themselves into beings that cannot exist in real life, using their own reflections and imaginations to their advantage. A Galapagos tortoise has morphed itself into a forest tree with a hanging swing. An iridescent island iguana has morphed dragonfly wings on its back to be able to escape any danger that comes its path. Also in the bottom right corner, there is a Chinese mantis morphed with a violin who plays a subtle melody into a mesmerizing breeze, simply to calm the animals and insects. In this painting I wanted to incorporate some of my favorite land creatures and insects. I have added a golden rainbow trout, red eared slider turtle, ladybugs, an orchid mantis, tree frog, bald eagle, mother black bear and her cub, two mischievous foxes, Luna moth, barn owl and a glass butterfly. The hands on the upper portion of the painting are a representation of my own. I have created a place for these animals to live in peace. That’s why in the painting my hands are holding vegetation and a full moon to help provide a light source. I wanted to place decaying dandelions, releasing fluttering particles descending into the wind. The Dandi lions represent hardship and anxiety. While the past is fading, there is always hope for new growth. Overall, I wanted to bring awareness to nature and the little things around us. If we continue to use our own selfishness and greed to destroy their ecosystems, we will end up destroying some of the most precious and interesting parts of this world that we have been given to explore.
